QuoteMark.com Guidelines - How to Get the Most from the Service

For content providers:

• We can only accept journalist-friendly pitches, so keep this in mind when composing your submission. Some of the things you might like to consider are the provision of experts willing to talk on a current event or hot topic; appropriate news or updates, perhaps tied in to popular culture; or anything else which a busy journalist might find of interest.

• We accept that not every PR/marketing professional works for an agency. Independent representatives are most welcome to sign-up as a QuoteMark.com content provider, but please ensure you provide full contact info so we have the option to verify your professional status. This is very important in our efforts to maintain the very highest quality of service for everyone using QuoteMark.com.

• Please respect journalist's preferred method of contact. If they have asked for quotes, comments or content to be emailed, please ensure this is how additional information is sent, even if you know which publication they work for and could contact them over the phone. Of course, once you have made contact with them and established your own business relationship you are both free to make contact in any way you see fit.

• Please note that this service is designed to put genuine public relations and marketing professionals in touch with journalists looking for news leads, experts, feature ideas, etc. In order to maintain the highest possible quality of service we will erase inappropriate or dormant accounts on a regular basis.

For journalists:

• We will do our level best to distribute your requests for specific content or material at the earliest opportunity. However, please spell out your requirements as clearly as possible and include details of any deadlines which you may be working to.

• Please respect content providers' preferred method of contact. If they have asked for follow-ups to be via email, please ensure this is how initial contact is made, even if you know which agency they work for and could contact them over the phone. Of course, once you have established your own business relationship you are both free to do whatever you want.

• We accept that not every professional journalist has an email address which corresponds with the company they work for, and that freelance journalists will have addresses that have nothing to do with the publications they write for. Journalists with these email accounts are most welcome to sign-up to receive QuoteMark.com bulletins, but please ensure you provide full contact info if prompted so we have the option to verify your professional status. This is very important in our efforts to maintain the very highest quality of service for everyone using QuoteMark.com.
